Most Valuable Player (MVP)Candidates
(1) Giannis Antetokounmpo (2) LeBron James (3) Kawhi Leonard The MVP award, which should be renamed the "Best Player Award" not the most valuable has been awarded to 32 different NBA players could possibly be add one more to that 32 for two of those players or possibly add one more trophy to one of those player's collection. Regardless, I see Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks winning this year. "The Greek Freak" is a 6'11 point-forward who has the ability to drive past anyone for a rather easy finish. Last year, he averaged 26.9 PPG, 10 RPG, and 4.8 APG, with a field goal percentage of near 53%, don't forget doing it at an incredible 23 years young. He looked like the clear favorite at the beginning of the season, but eventually his team wasn't there to help him. That seems to be the only flaw to his MVP campaign, there's only one player who has ever been crowned MVP and not have their team at the top two spots at their conference, and that's because he averaged a triple-double. However, if Giannis once again takes the leaugue by storm just like last year, an exception should be made for Giannis. After all, we expect him to be the one of if not the best player of the NBA a couple of years from now. And to me the window is right open for him. LeBron James by definition is the most coveted player in history, but with a new team, it's unlikely he wins his fifth MVP award, which he should have done years ago. Anthony Davis is in the same situation as Giannis, only with not as good in numbers and his team is even worst. Kawhi Leonard is head to head with Giannis, but he's also with a new team, a new system, and with the injury history he's had, it's tough to put him as the best player of the NBA. At the end of the day, the most VALUABLE player is LeBron James, but the best players will Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. |

WHY IS BUTLER STILL IN MINNESOTA?The Jimmy Butler saga continues, as he's being growing even more frustration with the Minnesota Timberwolves front office. Butler, who's a four time NBA all star and one of the best two-way players in the NBA, demanded a trade after not being given the extension he believed he deserved. Butler proved to be the veteran leader this young team needed, as for some time, the Timberwolves were in the top four in the stacked Western Conference. But after Butler was injured, the Timberwolves barely made the playoffs. In Butler's eyes, he deserves a long term extension, but the Timberwolves have made it clear that their future will be built around Karl Anthony-Towns and Andrew Wiggins. To make matters worse, Butler wanted to go to Miami, but the Timberwolves made it hard for Miami to accept the trade and head coach Tom Thibodeau doesn't want him to go, although the whole organization does. Emotions are beginning to spill, as Adrian Woj reported that Butler broke down in practice and yelled at his teammates and staff, declaring himself as the only reason why they won. Until a trade is made, Butler will start playing during the season, which should be avoided in order to maintain chemistry and the bright future we expect in Minnesota.
